John Baylor Test Prep Course

Your 2012-2013 JBTP ACT Prep Course (twelve new 45-minute sessions), (http://www.johnbaylortestprep.com/) the new JBTP Course Curriculum, and three new ACT Practice Testsare available under Course Materials. You also have two Quizzes now following each Session.

You can log in to the JBTP program using Mr. Bednar’s email as a username: bbednar@esu10.org
and use the password: Wt86Yoq4

You might click on them on each Session’s page, print them, and give one of each to students at the end of each Session—each quiz should take ten minutes at most. There are also three new Math Vignettes within Additional Prep: about 25 additional questions from each of this year’s three tests. I teach at a slower pace in Additional Math Prep.
We also have JBTP Explore and PLAN Prep. These Prep courses can help jump your Explore and PLAN scores as well as help strengthen the college-bound mindset earlier. Please give us a call to discuss details. We also offer SAT/PSAT Prep for $50 per participating student. SAT/PSAT Prep can make the difference for any junior with a shot at a National Merit Scholarship.

Here are the simple steps required before beginning your first ACT Prep course.

1. Decide where and when you show the course: twelve, 45-minute sessions (or you may show them back-to-back in six, 90-minute sessions). You’ll want to plan your schedule ASAP and begin no later than the Monday three weeks prior to the ACT test for which you’re preparing.

2. To access the JBTP ACT Prep Course, click that link and then the session you’d like to play. All JBTP content can be viewed on a single computer monitor at school or projected on to a screen in a class or auditorium via a projector. Please test out the video in your classroom on the computer you’re intending to use prior to your first session. If you experience any streaming problems, contact us immediately. You may want to use speakers to amplify the sound.

3. Secure a 3-ring binder with inside pouches for each participating student.

4. Print one master copy of the JBTP Course Curriculum and then create one copy for each student, 3-hole punch it, and put it inside each Curriculum Binder. To find the curriculum, just log in, click on the Course Materials link, and open up the Curriculum.

5. All three ACT tests can be found under Course Materials. ACT Test #0964E will be used starting with Session #1, ACT Test #5starting with Session #3, and ACT Test #6 starting at the end of Session #10. Print a master copy of each and then create a single copy for each Curriculum Binder, placing one copy of each test in the pouches of each Curriculum Binder.

6. Teacher Vignettes and College Counseling Videos can be accessed by clicking on the links just below the ACT Prep Courselink. Teacher Vignettes are for in-class use and do not require the students to have materials. Teachers can access their vignettes under Additional English Prep, Additional Math Prep, Additional Reading Prep, Additional Science Prep, or Writing Prep. We especially encourage English teachers to show the three English Vignettes to their 7th through 12th graders. These three are each only about 15 minutes and together cover all ACT grammar. Vignettes can be ideal when a substitute teacher is present.
